ADCG Committees

Education & Outreach Committee

The Ed & Outreach team plans programs and events at the garden, including our annual Seedling Sale, farmers' market kids' tent, and cooking classes and garden workshops. Ed & Outreach also connects with local schools to host students, and organizes youth programming at the garden. Depending on the season, Ed & Outreach meets for 90 minutes monthly or bi-monthly. If you like planning fun community events, working with young people, and creating opportunities for community members to learn, gather, and grow, then this is the committee for you!

Development Committee

The Development Team works with community partners to raise funds that support programs, operations, and projects at the garden. Most recently, the Development Team has been fundraising for the new Community Food Center. The committee works with local banks, businesses, and community members to secure monetary donations and donations of skills, materials, or services. The Development Team also creates community-facing materials, like the garden's annual report and annual appeal. This committee meets for 90 minutes each month, and welcomes new members who have experience with or passion for fundraising and marketing.

Equity Working Group

The mission of the Equity Working Group is to implement decolonizing strategies to fulfill the ADCG value of equity, and to shift the organization and our community away from systems of oppression. What does this mean, exactly? The Equity Working Group tries to figure that out at each meeting. Equity committee members engage with anti-racist resources to learn how they as individuals and we as a collective can make choices that promote change and healing, and move away from the dominant white supremacist culture. This group meets for an hour each month, and usually spends an additional hour every month listening to a related podcast, reading an article, or watching a film that is discussed at the next meeting. The Equity Working Group welcomes new members at any time, and asks that you show up with an open mind and willingness to learn and listen.
